| If no notices are served,
there is a risk of costly delay in starting
work. Neighbours whose rights seem to have
been ignored can get court injunctions to
force work to stop. |
 |
| Party Wall Surveyor’s
work may involve: |
 |
a) When acting for the
building owner: Prepare and
submit the necessary notices to adjoining
owner(s), prepare where required a schedule
of condition of the party wall(s) in question;
prepare if required all necessary ancillary
drawings, prepare an award and agree detailed
terms with the adjoining owner’s surveyor,
and ensure that work is carried out in accordance
with the Award. |
 |
b) When acting for an adjoining
owner: Examine notices submitted by the building
owner to ensure validity. Contact the building
owner’s surveyor, visit the property,
examine and negotiate the award, including
agreeing a schedule of condition where appropriate,
and monitor the work during the course of
the building contract to ensure
compliance with the Award. |
