The CLEAN ENERGY
building will demonstrate green concepts
by its functions and by its fabric.
Its starting point will be the National
Green Specification, and it will address
strategic issues and show practical
examples of energy and environmental
conservation such as zero or
minimal carbon low embodied energy in
materials low energy in use low waste
generation long durability recycleability. |
 |
It will be designed
to be an educational resource
demonstrating alternative technologies
such as
solar, wind and geothermal power as
well as being a
working example of CHP. |
 |
The theories shown
will be supported by the practical reduction
of running costs through the use of
solar power and wind generation, and
the maximum use of daylight even in
the underground parts. The space in
the building will be adaptable and flexible
to allow multifunctional use by the
current residents and be capable of
radical change
in the future. |
