The CHP engine is
to be mounted above the existing electricity
sub-station and transformer. This is
a prototype idea which can be replicated
wherever there is such a sub-station
by using standard designs. The CHP engine
in this case will be housed in a larger
space than needed for
engineering reasons because it is a
demonstration unit requiring teaching
space around it, but as part of the
development of the design replaceable
solutions will be evolved. |
 |
| Discussions are in
progress associated with the control
and operation of the CHP to be installed
at the CLEAN ENERGY Centre and whether
the most appropriate route for sale
of electricity will be a private network
or to the public network. |
 |
CLEAN ENERGY will
use as little energy as possible and
waste as little as possible. Water will
be recycled, and waterless toilets are
envisaged. Waste will be separated in
the kitchen and elsewhere as compostible,
recyclable and non reclaimable, and
segregation bins will be provided. Consideration
will be given to composting, soil
improvement and even vertical home grown
food. |
